Re: attempto Digest, Vol 7, Issue 14

Eddy,

I just got a new Windows box with Vista Home
Premium (64-bit) installed and, when I tried to compile ape from make_exe,
I had the same problem you originally reported on April 20 ('plcon' is not
recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch
file.) The problem is with the installation of SWI
Prolog. The installer doesn't add the path to SWI Prolog's bin
directory (by default this is the directory "C:\Program Files
(x86)\pl\bin") to the PATH environment variable. Manually adding the
directory to your PATH variable should fix your problem (or at least it
worked for me). If you don't know how to do this I think it will
probably be easy to find detailed instructions online, but let me know if
you have any further difficulties. I'd be glad to help. (I
hope that either you managed to solve the problem yourself or that it
isn't too late to help.)

I just sent an email off to the SWI Prolog
group reporting the problem.

Attempto team: Now that I have a
Vista box, if you would like me to test software installations or help
with anything Vista-related, just let me know. I'll also keep an eye
out for Vista-related problems reported on the mailing list.

--
