This happens especially with pronouns and indefinite/definite articles. As a simple ā€“ perhaps only temporary ā€“ solution I suggest to use variables in apposition to noun phrases, e.g. "a man X" to which you can later anaphorically refer simply by "X", instead of "the man" or "he".
